It was righteous anger, like Jesus storming the temple and overturning the tables of the merchants, money-changers, and charlatans. Simon & Garfunkel’s original (brilliant) was more a wistful lamentation of what we had become. David, by the final verse, turned the song into an admonishment (admonition?) of humanity, or lack thereof. “Pull your heads out of your asses, people!”

Sometimes great singers don't know how great they are personally. I feel it almost a blessing record companies didn't get their hands on her and her band. She was stubborn yes, but to keep all those wonderful styles she could sing was pretty amazing rather than being stuck in a pidgeon hole. She is a truly amazing vocalist.

Imo her version of this in the green 97X room was the best or my favorite at least. Also, her black and white acoustic version of "Decode" is incredible and certainly worth a reaction. 🫡

I would suggest you do two things ..... HEAR with listener engagement ..... the other thing is do not sing what EVA Cassidy just did as if you are replicating the Lyric line in examination .... you simply have not the vocal gift for that. Please know that your knowledge is appreciated .... just needs a little respectful reaction ! GBjj
